Trade is off: Why Modi govt’s lockdown leeway is poor consolation for India’s exporters

While the govt has allowed manufacturing to resume partially, exporters will have to contend with poor demand in a shrinking global economy. Riding out the next two quarters could be an arduous task for large corporations, leave alone small enterprises. A lot of them, including those heavily dependent on exports, will survive the govt quickly throws them a lifeline.
